14k yellow gold, 16 size, open face pocket watch by Elgin with a convertible movement, circa 1886. 15 jewel, 3/4 plate convertible movement (one made to go with both open face and hunter case pocket watches) with gold jewel settings. Plain polished 14k yellow gold case with free flowing initials on back. Porcelain dial with black Arabic numerals, minute ring with red 5 minute numbers and subsidiary constant seconds register -- hairlines at 5 and 7. A horological rarity as few watchmakers produced convertible movements. |
